Boeing Fort Walton Beach Moves the World
The 2018 Global Well Being Walk is a world-wide event that occurred on Wed, May 9. During the event, Boeing employees around the world united to celebrate their well-being, and the well-being of others. To recognize a commitment to well-being, Boeing made total donations of $1 million dollar to several global nonprofit organizations that support veterans’ well-being, mental health, and local community programs.
This year, Boeing chose seven non-profit organizations to donate the money to. In addition to these seven, Boeing also gave $25,000 to 10 different Boeing work sites around the globe, who then donated it to nonprofit organizations of their choice in their local community.
It was a beautiful, sunny day along the Emerald Coast, where 70 Boeing employees were joined on their global walk by three members of Team Red, White & Blue: Vernon Ivy – FWB Chapter Captain, Roger Wildermuth – FWB Chapter and Janet Herrick – Pensacola Chapter.
Hank Sanders was proud to share news from Ingrid Piedrahita (our Florida Boeing Global Engagement Community Investor) that Boeing was donating $100,000 to Team Red, White & Blue to help connect veterans to their community through physical and social activity. Vernon expressed his sincere gratitude for Boeing’s generosity and partnership in helping Team Red, White & Blue enrich the lives of our veterans.
