Bataan Memorial Honorary March (San Angelo)
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
KOA Loop 6699 Knickerbocker Rd, San Angelo, TX 76904
On April 9, 1942 tens of thousands of American and Filipino Soldiers were surrendered to Japanese forces and were forced to march more than 60 miles in the scorching heat through the Philippine jungles. Thousands died and those who survived faced the hardships of prisoner of war camps. The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging and grueling march that tests both mental and physical abilities. For the 2021 virtual experience, marchers are encouraged to choose a challenging stretch of road or trail in honor of the historical march. Locally Team RWB and Black Pearl Ruckin' will host the Bataan Memorial Honorary March at KOA. The Event will start at 0800 and will complete the 2 Mile loop once about every 35-40 Minutes. Feel Free to come out and Complete 1 Lap or all 7 to complete the 14 Mile event. Some small snacks and drinks will be available at our Aid Station near the intersection of Hillside Dr and Knickerbocker.
