The Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition will be hosting a 22-mile ruck on Memorial Day 2021. This will be an annual event. 22 miles represents the 22 Veterans who take their life every day. The event will consist of two teams. Alpha Team will start in Midland at the Veterans Memorial near the courthouse and proceed east via Wheeler Road to Bay City and the USS Edson Museum. Bravo Team will start in Frankenmuth at Wilkommen Park and head north to the USS Edson also. *** The Team RWB Bay City Leaders will be completing the Frankenmuth route. If you wish to ruck with Team RWB, please register for the Frankenmuth route, either 22 or 11 miles. The ruck is open to anyone. For those who do not think they are ready for 22 miles, we will have an 11-mile option. We will also have several support vehicles and some of the support team are committing to ruck a few miles throughout the course. We will have a small ceremony to kick off the event at each location. We will have a rest stop at approximately 11 miles for team members to rest, change socks and other to join in that are doing the half ruck. All participants should arrive at the USS Edson around 5:00 PM to another ceremony and dinner. Any fund raised will go towards a local K9 or Equine Therapy program or the PTSD/Suicide Prevention program at the VA Hospital.
