Rock Climbing Camp – Day 2
8:00 AM - 11:59 PM CDT
5050 Lick Creek Rd., Buncombe, IL 62912
Vertical Heartland Rock Climbing School welcomes back Team RWB Marion for the 6th Annual Rock Climbing/Rappelling Camp at Drapers Bluff in beautiful Southern Illinois. This weekend Eagle Extravaganza is open to all our members young and old. Bring the entire family for a fun-filled weekend of camping, climbing, rappelling, BBQ and our self-proclaimed largest bonfire in the free world!
Day 1 is an opportunity for campers to set up and get a head start on the weekend. Whether you decide to throw up a tent or bring the camper, we can accommodate you. Unfortunately, there are no electric or water hook ups for campers so be prepared! Please arrive no earlier than 3:00pm to set up.
Day 2 we will wake up early to get a start on our day. Breakfast with all the fixins and coffee around a campfire is a must before we climb though. If you plan to arrive Saturday and not camp, please arrive no later than 8:00am that morning. After breakfast, we'll take a short hike up to the bluff and climb till about noon. Lunch will be back at the campsite, followed by an afternoon of more climbing and rappelling. Once we've all worn ourselves out from the excitement, we'll head back to our camp for dinner, socializing, games and get things fired up with the bonfire!
Day 3 is a day to relax and teardown our campsite. We will have another great campfire breakfast, and enjoy a sightseeing hike to burn off the bacon calories.
