Team RWB vs Purgatory Creek IV: The Scorch Trials

7:30 AM - 11:30 AM CDT

2101 Hunter Road (Lower Purgatory Trail), San Marcos, TX 78666

Eagles, join us for this year's adventure at Purgatory Creek in San Marcos. This is the 4th year of this event and I can tell you with confidence it will be hot! It's July and it's Texas so this ruck/hike will feel like the scorch trials. The plan is to do an 8-mile loop at an easy pace. If you want to run this trail, you are more than welcome to do so. There are some technical parts; however, this trail is not difficult at all. It does get hot so please plan accordingly and bring at least 60-80 oz of hydration with you. We will have extra water and Gatorade to hand out before and after the event. We've seen snakes and other critters in past years so wear appropriate shoes/hiking boots. No flips flop or open-toed shoes please! Afterwards, we can grab a bite at a local eatery and enjoy a cold drink - we hope you can join us!! Note: The State of Texas has eased some of the social distance requirements; however, we will continue to adhere to published safety standards. Participants will wear masks as needed, observe 6-ft separation between members, and limit person to person contact. There will be no buddy carries, mixing up rucks, or have participants carrying someone else's gear, team weights, coupons, or flags. Everyone will avoid being in the slipstream of the leading person and maintain separation while staggered or side by side arrangement, or by keeping larger physical distances, where the distances increase with the rucking speed. If you are feeling sick, have a fever of a 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, have shortness of breath, or have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID positive individual, please stay home and join us at a future event
