Thursday Night Road Ride (Bi-weekly)

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM AKDT

PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST: Group road bike ride, recurring every Thursday evening.  Approximately 10-15 miles at 10-15mph average pace; total ride time 60-75 minutes.  Facial covering required during meetup and conclusion, as well as any portion of skills clinic involving close proximity; facial covering optional during the ride itself.  Riders will maintain minimum 12' distancing during the ride, and minimum 6' distancing at all other times (parking lot, skills clinic, etc).  Group will meet at defined location, perform safety checks, cover scheme of maneuver and route, then begin activity.  Groups will be formed based on ability/speed.  No rider will ride alone - groups of 2 or more. REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:  Bicycle (road or triathlon strongly recommended) helmet; water; facial covering, functional lights (front and rear) RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT:  Bug repellant, sunscreen, snacks. NOTICE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS: The U.S., the District of Columbia, The State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia are all under State and National Health Emergencies as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Participation is voluntary and anyone participating in any Team RWB in-person event accepts all risks associated with participation under the current health emergency As mentioned above, Participation is voluntary. As a result of the pandemic, the Washington DC Chapter of Team RWB will be enforcing the following precautions in regards to a return to hosting in-person events: Check-ins are MANDATORY for in-person events for both Contact Tracing purposes and to confirm participant read, understands, and agrees to these guidelines. Whether done before arriving or at the start of the event, all participants will be required to check in for contact tracing purposes. If any participant tests positive for COVID-19 after an event, they must contact the event coordinator so Team RWB may invoke contact tracing protocols. The event will not start as long as there are participants who have not checked in. Masks and social distancing will be fully enforced as they relate to the measures stated by the jurisdictions where the event will be occurring. If any participant does not have a mask, they can request one from the event coordinator. Hand sanitizer will be provided as well upon request. Failure to comply with the safety measures as stated above may result in the participant being asked to leave the event. Team RWB DC wants to ensure that all Veterans, Service members, Supports and families are given opportunities to participate in shared activities to Enrich the Lives of America’s Veterans, however, it is vitally important that all Eagles do their part to ensure the safety of others as well.
