Team RWB helps JPMorgan Chase employees across the country serve their communities
In 2018, Team RWB partnered with JPMorgan Chase, an international financial institution with a dedicated Military and Veterans Affairs program and active veteran employee community. Over the past year, Team RWB has provided JPMorgan Chase employees with 14 volunteer opportunities across the country – events that have become a valued part of the firm’s community service culture.
In Arizona, Team RWB connected JPMorgan Chase volunteers with the Midwest Food Bank for a Saturday morning of service. The event was immediately recognized as a valuable contribution and memorable experience. Volunteers brought family members of all ages. Midwest Food Bank has roots dating back to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and has served over 147 million meals! With seven locations across the United States and one in Kenya, the Midwest Food Bank is a vital distributor and responder when disaster hits.
On the east coast, volunteers in New Jersey joined Team RWB for a summer Saturday to help preserve the historic Harismus Cemetery in Jersey City. Sadly neglected and abandoned in early 2008, the Harsimus Cemetery is now being saved and preserved by the dedicated efforts of a newly formed volunteer Board of Trustees, a hard-working group of volunteers, and a supportive community who are committed to the restoration of the historic cemetery grounds, caretaker house, and historic monuments. JPMorgan Chase volunteers pitched in on grounds work, landscaping and planting activities. Their work will help protect and preserve, with honor, our ancestors and veterans in memoriam, while promoting the early American historical events that took place on these sacred grounds.
Other events around the country have ranged from packing lunches for local shelters in Brooklyn to volunteering at Waves of Valor Surf Camp in southern California. The JPMorgan Chase team looks forward to many more opportunities to serve our communities together in the future!
