Leadership Drives Us
Blog written by: Zack Armstrong, Midwest Regional Director
As Team Red, White & Blue (RWB) continues to provide consistent, local and inclusive opportunities to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activities, I feel it’s necessary to peel back the onion and highlight what makes all of this possible.
It’s our people! We call them “Eagle Leaders” and there are nearly 2000 of them, veterans and civilians, that dedicate themselves in more than 200 communities that provide enriching activities for our members and the community.
Organizations like General Motors (GM) drive Team RWB forward and enable us to invest in our Eagle Leaders by way of our Leadership Development Program. On February 18th & 19th, in Detroit, Michigan, GM shared its Innovation Exchange workspace with 50 Team RWB Eagle Leaders from 10 Midwest states to participate in our 4th Midwest Leadership Summit. The GM Innovation Exchange is a collaborative workspace that is uniquely suited to promote creativity and collaboration – exactly the type of environment needed to bring veterans and civilians together for an enriching weekend of health, people, and purpose.
In 2017, Team RWB is making an enormous investment in our Eagle Leaders by way of our Leadership Development Program. The investment in our people from 209 different locations across America will strengthen our Chapter Program and the communities in which these leaders live and serve. You may listen to this Eagle Nation Podcast to learn more about our complimentary programs.
As a Regional Director working each day to engage with veterans in their communities, I couldn’t be more grateful that GM and their employees are willing to go the extra mile to share their Innovation Exchange workspace with us for a weekend that will certainly propel our Eagle Leaders for years to come.
