Those of you that know me well, already know that I am not quick to jump on just any charity bandwagon. Nor do I support organizations who are all talk and no action. I like to know my support will go directly where it is needed. But I have no qualms about helping where there is an honest need, or where I have seen first hand, the result of an organization’s commitment to their cause. That said, I would like to give some props to my friends at Team RWB.

I’ve been an #Eagle for about a year now, and only have good things to say.Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.”  That, they do very well! Even before becoming a member, I saw a Team RWB presence at almost every running/fitness event I attended (part of the reason I decided to learn more about the organization). Since becoming a member I have seen first hand, just how supportive this group is. Between the three local chapters I am a member of (since I was not exactly IN one of the areas, it was suggested that I join the Austin, San Antonio and South Central Chapters) it seems that there is some type of event, social gathering, workout, run, etc. on almost a daily basis. This is a very active group!

To say a bit about my motivation for becoming an #Eagle; I have always been a strong supporter of our service men and women. No one in my immediate family was ever a service member, in fact I myself am the product of parents who got married and conceived as a way for my Dad to avoid serving. I have always felt the need to make it right and give something back to this great country of ours, but as I have mentioned previously, fitness restrictions kept me a civilian when I was young. Now that I am 50, and am in the best physical shape of my life, I feel it’s time to give something back! I saw Team RWB as a perfect way to do that, and honor the service men and women whom I’ve never had the privilege to be one of.

There is so much more that I could share, but I think you should learn it first hand, the way I did. I urge you to learn more about what the #eagleethos is all about, and why I proudly wear the eagle!
