A 7-year Army veteran, Miguel trained as a Korean Linguist and served with the 8th Army and the 25th Infantry Division. After the service, Miguel relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, finding work in IT. Between jobs, he volunteered at the VA medical hospital in Patient Services, escorting and assisting fellow veterans during their visit to the hospital. In 2013 he found out about an event called Run As One, which was the 1st event he attended with Team RWB. Wanting to find more opportunities for the vets at the VA to get physically active, he became more involved in the chapter. When the call was put out for volunteers he accepted the Veteran Outreach Director position in 2014, leading with Eagle greats, Andrew Hutchinson and Kris Lord. In January 2015 he was asked to assume the role of Chapter Captain, and since that time, has led the team and helped grow the San Francisco chapter into what it is today.
