Why Did You Join Team RWB?
“I joined Team RWB because I was looking for a group in my surrounding area to join that wanted to be active, to get me out of the slump I’d fell in, to participate in a meaningful mission that made me feel worth something. After hearing a member of Team RWB speak at a conference I attended, I was sold on the idea, goal, and service that Team RWB had to offer. I knew in my heart that day, this was going to be one of the best decisions of my life.”
What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?
“My favorite experience with Team RWB has to be the day I enlisted with the Illinois Air National Guard, August 30th 2018. I had not planned on anyone being there for me on that day. My friends and family were not able to make it. Despite my enlistment being in the middle of a work day and over an hour away, members of Team RWB came to show their love and support. I will forever be thankful for that.”
How do you serve your community?
“I serve my community by participating in volunteer opportunities with Team RWB. I do my best to show up to every volunteer experience that I can. Whether that means set up and tear down for a veteran event, weighing fish at the local catfish for veterans tournament or just simply spreading the word and mission of Team RWB to anyone and everyone I can. At this time, thats how I serve my community.”
What Inspires You?
“I am inspired by helping others, especially those who have served or who are serving our country. Being able to make the someone’s life just a little bit better is definitely a driving force behind my actions. Many other people have done that for me throughout my life. I feel it is only right to pass that good deed on as many times as possible.”
How has Team RWB impacted your life?
“Team RWB has drastically impacted my life for the better. They allowed me in, just as I am, to work along side them to support the mission. They have shown great love and respect for me. They have been there for me when I was struggling through the process of enlistment. They have shown me what it’s like to be part of something that is all about giving back. They have done more for me than they will ever realize.”
What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?
“Do it. Joining Team RWB was one of the best decision I have ever made. If you want to feel welcomed with open arms, participate in physical activities, social events, volunteer opportunities, if you want to make a difference in people’s lives.. .absolutely join Team RWB. We would love to have you!”
