Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“My recent move to Atlanta took me from 24/7 immersion in a military environment to zero almost instantly. Was looking for a fun group, sharing my interests, to join in order to broaden my experience while living in the city. A group which my wife and I could get involved in, meet new people, and explore a city and state which I’ve never spent any significant time in. I was looking for something like this at the grad school I’m attending when someone pointed me in the direction of Team RWB. I contacted the group and signed up for the 2017 Eagle Charge. I’ve had a blast ever since.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“Time spent with teammates during evening rucks in the sticky, ridiculously humid, southern summer.”

How do you serve your community?

“Through my participation in Team RWB and my activity on Georgia Tech campus. I bring a few years experience to the classroom and am willing to share my failures and successes with my classmates.”

What Inspires You?

“Meeting new people and sharing our experiences. It’s inspirational to hear stories of accomplishment or professional experiences coming from my peers. Gives me the motivation and comprehension I need to recognize what one is capable of.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“The social and physical activities. I’ve done Eagle Charge, ruck workouts, and a few social events and at every occasion I’ve felt welcomed into a group of amazing patriots. Despite our unique backgrounds (civilian and military) it’s incredible easy to come together and have a good time. I wear the eagle routinely while out running around Atlanta, and constantly get asked what Team RWB is about. I’m proud to explain what it is, and recommend to all veteran and active duty I run into to join the team. I’ve even spotted some teammates in other states while on travel and quickly struck up a friendly conversation.”

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“Jump in. You have nothing too lose. No machismo, no resume comparison contests. It’s an open, friendly group that excels at promoting healthy engagement with its members.”
