Chapter: Team RWB National

Motto: “Trust in yourself before anyone else.”
Why Did You Join Team RWB?
“I joined Team RWB because I think the organization does something unique from other VSO’s. The social connectedness that the military provides is pretty strong and I like that Team RWB recognizes that and continues to actively facilitate it post-service. I love being part of a team that creates a space for Veterans and civilians to creatively engage with each other in their communities and then see the positive impact of those engagements on people’s lives.”
What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?
My favorite experience with Team RWB was the Northwest Eagle Leader Mountain Biking Experience in Fruita, Colorado. The group of people who came were really fun people and the experience of mountain biking in Fruita was absolutely amazing. We had people who ranged from beginners to advanced mountain bikers and the terrain of Fruita challenged everyone! My favorite things were seeing people really challenge themselves and through that challenge, build confidence in their skills as well as trust in each other.”
How do you serve your community?
“I am one of two Program Managers for the West Region, so I really do my best to serve all “communities” in our region! I believe that I serve them through encouraging each chapter to utilize all the resources they have through Team RWB, their communities and their experiences to be creative and get out there to engage and enrich veterans lives through physical and social activity. Additionally, I facilitate leadership development of our members through customized leadership experiences!”
What Inspires You?
“I am inspired by people who are working towards setting and achieving their goals and working towards progress. The goal could be big or small, but I love seeing people who have a vision towards a new outcome and then the various ways in which they work to get to that. I also am so inspired by all the things they learn along the way!”
What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?
“A lot of times, people want to help out veterans in some way, but they may not be sure exactly what to do or how. They might even be a little intimidated, but many Veteran’s would simply like to connect. Team RWB is an organization that is answering those questions: “What and How do I get involved!?” So, if you are looking to help out, check out a few Team RWB events; go, and then “it” will happen; you will be helping out veterans in your community by engaging and connecting with them and the impact of those connections could be more than you know!”
