Motto: “Life is a garden; dig it.”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“I served 5 years active in the Marine Corps and 3 years Reserves at the time that I decided to join Team RWB. I didn’t know what Team RWB was at first and honestly I joined for the t-shirt. Over time, it became more for me. It gave me a sense of purpose and a similar feeling of fulfillment that the Marine Corps gave me. There are times that I feel broken down and will just want to isolate myself; the connections I’ve made as a member of Team RWB have really allowed me the outlet I need to reach out to friends whenever I’m feeling isolated.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“I recently decided to attend my first Eagle Leadership Academy (ELA) in St. Louis. I didn’t know what to expect going into it so I went in with an open mind. While in St. Louis, I connected with a great group of individuals whom I consider to be my family now.”

How do you serve your community?

“I fill the role of Social Events Coordinator and 5k/10k/Half Marathon Race Coordinator in my local chapter. I serve my community by bringing Eagles together for social events and runs in order to develop those same kind of connections I made in St. Louis.”

What Inspires You?

“My inspirations are God because without him in my life, none of this would be possible. My daughters are another inspiration in my life that keep me going throughout the day. Also, I inspire myself a lot. I’m always learning from my mistakes and I challenge myself every day to be a better person than I was the day prior. Lastly, my small circle of friends that I keep in my life. The Eagle Family that reaches out to me when I’m feeling down inspires me to keep pushing.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Team RWB has given me an outlet to really connect with others that I can relate to. At the ELA I attended, they spoke about authentic leadership and what it meant to be an authentic leader. I’ve since applied those fundamentals to my personal life and work life. Ever since, I feel that the relationship with my daughters is stronger and my performance at work has gotten better. Thats how Team RWB has changed my life.”

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“If you’re thinking of joining Team RWB, I would say, come out to an event and get a feel for it. Introduce yourself to our leaders and fellow eagles. Come on board with an open mind because Team RWB is not your typical Veterans Services Organization. No one will pressure you into participating in any events but if you decide to come out; we’ll welcome you with open arms.”
