Chapter: Team RWB South Central

Member Since: July 2015

Motto: “Focus on the only day you are guaranteed to have… today.”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“I joined Team RWB to be part of a family that lives by Ethos that bring love and cohesion to the Eagle family and the community. I took note of Eagles that I associated with and I could tell that they had a bond. I noticed that they helped others when they needed a hand. I wanted to be a part of that family. I wanted to be an Eagle and help many others like they did. I decided to join Team RWB while I was deployed. When I returned, I joined my local chapter Fort Hood. A year later, I am now a chapter captain. I have the opportunity to help many and will embrace every opportunity.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“There are many fun and memorable experiences, but the very first one stands out. It was my first impression of Team RWB. We created a team of 12 Eagles and ran a 223 mile relay. The experience of being together through that event, helping each other, encouraging one another, and developing strong relationships was by far the best experience. We became family over one weekend, while conquering 223 miles.”

How Do You Serve Your Community?

“I serve my community with every intention of making it better. I seek opportunities to assist and lead events that help the homeless, veterans and children. I started from a young age as my parents taught me to help those in need. I have helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity, helped schools in programs for kids, and have coached 3 different sports for kids.

What Inspires You?

“My inspiration are my parents that continue to help the community day after day. They may not have much but they give what little they have, and help touch many lives.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Team RWB has given me a family wherever I go. A family that cares for each other and looks out for each other. Every time I travel, I meet the local chapter and I am treated like part of their team. When crisis hits, we quickly come together to support each other. “

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“I tell everyone that they are not joining a chapter, they are joining a family. A family that will rise together, a family that will support each other.”
