Chapter: Team RWB Philadelphia

Motto: “No matter the pace, keep moving forward.”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“We joined after seeing Team RWB assisting and motivating runners during a Thanksgiving run at Quantico. We were blown away at how motivating the team was. We thought they were a running team, and as we got involved we realized that it was a team, a family, where some people happen run. We joined in the winter and were welcomed like we were old friends.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“Leadership (Yoga) Camp at Shelter Island. Gave us the opportunity to connect with our Eagle Leaders, practice yoga and have the opportunity to tell our story. It really stoked our Eagle Fire….and created awesome friendships, and turned it into a yoga event in our community.”

How Do You Serve Your Community?

“We do events with local Team RWB members, including weekly runs, yoga and socials. We take the same approach in our community, encouraging people to be a part of something. We always use Team RWB as an example. We also talk to anyone who will listen.

What Inspires You?

“Seeing other people in our community and our Eagle community doing something great makes us want to do something great. Everyone has something that will inspire you.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“It turned our love of running and yoga into something that has meaning. We joined Team RWB for the encouragement and realized that we could do more, and we were rewarded with the opportunity to be volunteer leaders. We knew we could help other families get involved. This has turned into a great honor and blessing. And has brought our family even closer.

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“Just do it. There is no cost, and it will turn out to be the best investment you can make. For veterans and their family it is a community and a team. For everyone – it is a very rewarding way to give back to the community however you can, and they become your family.
