Chapter: Team RWB – Northern New Jersey

Motto: “Whatever It Takes”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“To help myself and others deal with PTSD. ”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“West Point Half Marathon. There was a large group of us racing, but there was also a great group that wasn’t racing and was there on course photographing, cheering and supporting. That’s what makes Team RWB so great – even if everyone doesn’t participate in the event, they participate at the event.

How Do You Serve Your Community?

“I serve my community in a number of ways – including as a retired Firefighter.  I am also the Team RWB Athletic Coordinator for my area, a triathlete, and a race director.  I serve as an Ambassador for Polar Heart Rate Monitors, Rudy Project, Head Blade, and Honey Stinger, also.

What Inspires You?

“Inspiration comes from within. When you think you can’t push it further in training, racing or virtually anything…you still can. It’s all mental. It helps to have the support from Team RWB there with you at the race, during training, or just knowing they are there if you need them.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Without even talking to any team member explicitly about PTSD, over the past year I have had major progress in working through it. “

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“Join! Team members accept you for who and what you are. You will not be judged. Great group of people with many interests.”
