Chapter: Panama City, FL

Motto: “Eagle Up!”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“Elizabeth Hasselback told me to.  Also, I saw a segment on Fox and Friends about veterans needing a support system and what Team RWB was trying to do to bridge the veteran-civilian divide. I felt like that was exactly what I was needing in my life at that very moment. So I tell people I signed up because Elizabeth Hasselback told me to….because she really did! I have a lot of respect for her and her husband. They are truly great people so I had to try it!”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“So far, the EagleUp Ultra Marathon has been the most memorable event. But being able to help my community tops anything. I attended the EagleUp 24 hour Ultramarathon June 24th in Canal Fulton, Ohio. There were Eagles from everywhere! We camped out at the park, got up early and motivated each other through the heat and blisters. I have never ran anything over a marathon in my life and ended up completing 50 miles (20 in flip flops). The friends I made that day really speaks volumes to what Team RWB means. It is the best family feeling whenever we get together!”

How Do You Serve Your Community?

“I have served as the Chapter Captain for Panama City, Florida for around 2 years. I really love giving back, helping someone achieve their goals, or even just introducing new members to others in their community. Team RWB is about all the right things: people, passion, and purpose.”

What Inspires You?

“Knowing I can affect change inspires me. I love being around people. I want my children to see what hard work is, but I also want them them to realize how easy it is to be caring, compassionate, and to understand others points of view.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“After leaving the Navy, not because I wanted to. It because it was the only thing best for my son, I was very bitter. I didn’t want to have anything to do with the military. Unfortunately my skills are very unique, so my only employment options have been with the military. So RWB has allowed me to engage so many Chapters and meet hundreds of new people.”

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“The team will cheer you on in whatever you wish for yourself. You have to set your own goals, but just know that we will always be behind you cheering you on!”
