Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“In 2014, I was struggling a little in life & let me self go physically & mentally. It was 10 years after retiring from the Air Force. During a routine VA medical appointment my doctor recommended the VA’s MOVE Weight Management Program after hearing of some of my medical issues. During one of my MOVE Forward classes,  I learned of Team RWB and a light bulb clicked on. I saw a way to get back some of the camaraderie that I experienced as a service remember & before as an Air Force brat. Little did I know that being around Eagles was contagious.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“2015 Old Glory Relay is by far my favorite event & experience with Team RWB. We spent 2 days on the road (approximately 5 hrs away from Wichita) carrying Old Glory for over 100+ miles. While I only got to run it for two 1 mile legs, I enjoyed being the photographer for just a short time on the Old Glory Relay course.”

What Inspires You?

“My fellow Eagles. When I need that inspiration all I have to do is be around fellow Eagles and I feel it.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Team RWB gave me the reason to serve again & pull me from a dark place. It has sustained me from not returning to that dark place & forced me to try bettering myself in everything I do.

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“If you a veteran, joining Team RWB is a no-brainer…it will give back to you & you will feel some of the camaraderie you felt while serving. If your a civilian who never served but want to or just support veterans, then this is one of the best organizations to give back to those who serve & serve your country in a way.”
