Motto: “Sign Up. Show Up. Finish it.”

Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“I had been aware of Team RWB and our local chapter, but I was not actively involved. It wasn’t until I participated in a indoor triathlon and noticed all of the volunteers wearing the Eagle. After the event, I reached out the local Chapter Captain, a good friend of mine, who encouraged me to sign up. I’ve been hooked ever since.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“That same friend (noticing a trend yet?) encouraged me to sign up for a half marathon that was in conjunction with a Team RWB wilderness camping weekend. This would entail sleeping in a bunk house with a bunch of strangers and running the longest distance I had ever ran. Needless to say, I was hesitant but I put my personal motto to the test. I signed up, showed up, and with the support of my fellow Eagles, we finished the race.”

How do you serve your community?

“Prior to Team RWB I regularly volunteered with local non-profit organizations. Now, as an Eagle Leader, I use that time to organize and participate in our local community service projects; where we can provide others with the opportunity to be a part of their community. We have members who may not come out for a race, but they’ll show up to clean trash up along the highway.”

What Inspires You?

“I am inspired by te human capacity to connect . And Team RWB is a GREAT catalyst to do so! This organization has literally built their mission around building deeper, more genuine relationships.”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Team RWB has instilled both a sense of purpose and belonging in my life. I have been able to make genuine connections with people from all over the country, brought together through our desire to build better chapters and thus better communities. The support of the Team also gives me the confidence to show up for the hard stuff, I know my teammates will be there wading through with me.”

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“Sign up. Show Up. Come be a part of something bigger than yourself.”
