Personal Motto: “You were born to be real, not to be perfect.” – Ralph Martson
Why Did You Join Team RWB?
“I joined for a sense of belonging. I was at the end of my rope and felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. I needed that sense of community and purpose. After years of searching after leaving the Army, I had finally found it with Team RWB. Not only did it allow me to give back to others and my community, but it allowed me the personal growth I longed for.”
What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?
“Leadership weekends. Attending all of the Eagle Leadership Development opportunities in the curriculum has been amazing. Coming together with like-minded folks to grow, learn, and kindle the fire has allowed me to truly grow and bring back the fire to my local chapter level. It has also allowed me to nurture other leaders locally and in my region.”
How do you serve your community?
“I serve with deep compassion in my community. Whether it be through athletic events or community-focused events, there is also room to serve and make a difference. We work with my local organizations to build a strong community for both veterans and civilians to feel welcome and belong. This allows them to grow and be able to make a difference in their personal lives.”
What Inspires You?
“Seeing others grow inspires me. Watching someone new walk in the door for the very first time is amazing. Coming alongside them and helping nurture them in whatever their personal goals may be and seeing the fruits of the labor really transpire. Being able to help change lives really inspires me to be a better person each and every day.”
How has Team RWB impacted your life?
“Team RWB literally saved my life. I was at the end of my road and felt like I couldn’t push forward anymore. Finding Team RWB and folks who truly cared not only impacted me, but gave me a purpose again. It helped me become a better leader, friend, and father. I have so much to be thankful for in life and have a new sense of happiness.”
What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?
“Just come out and see what it is about. Everyone has a place in Team RWB and everyone belongs. Whether you like socials, athletic events, or serving your community, you will find a way to fulfill your passion with like-minded people who truly care.”
