Why Did You Join Team RWB?

“I was going through a divorce and felt alone. I went to a run as one event and heard about Team RWB. Being at the event felt good because I was surrounded by other vets who cared about me and got to know me. Since joining I have made some amazing friends and it truly helped lift my spirits and helped me get through a really rough patch in my life. I’m so thankful for my IE chapter. They have truly changed my life.”

What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?

“My favorite event was helping volunteer for meals on wheels at the Salsa festival with Team RWB. I met new Eagles and made long term friends. It was a great event and it felt good to help serve others. The experience was awesome because I was able to share stories with other vets and feel at home.”

How do you serve your community?

“I’m the Athletic Director for Team RWB and I host a run every Tuesday in the city of Corona, CA. It feels good to be able to help others run or walk and talk about how they are doing. I also serve my community by hosting information booths at different events to get the word out about Team RWB. I want others lives to be enriched the same way mine has been.”

What Inspires You?

“I’m a people person and I love to spread love and happiness to others. It inspires me to see others happy and being able to feel good about life. I strive to motivate others to accomplish there goals and have a sense of purpose in life. Working with Team RWB inspires me to continue to spread the love and joy I have to others!”

How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?

“Wow, where do I start! Team RWB has changed my life completely. I’m not from California and always felt like I was missing family. The members of Team RWB have become just that, family. They love on me and my four kids. They have helped me help others. They have helped me give my life more purpose. They have allowed me the opportunity to enrich the lives of other veterans and that’s an amazing thing in its self.”

What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?

“Join! It’s an amazing organization doing amazing things for the community. You will create bonds that last forever. You will be able to serve others and feel the purpose it that. You will be able to attend physicals and social events. There is always something going on that you may be interested in.”
