Member Since: March 2014
Motto: Everything is an opportunity!
Why Did You Join Team RWB?
“I joined Team RWB in 2014 after I was introduced to the program by Iowa State University Army ROTC. We did a WOD for Warriors the semester prior and I felt like it was something I should look into. ”
What has Been Your Favorite Event or Experience with Team RWB?
“My most favorite event with Team RWB has been all of them. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories, and being able to interact with them.”
How Do You Serve Your Community?
“I currently serve as Veteran Outreach Director for Team RWB Treasure Valley, work as a VA work study at the Boise State University Veteran Services Center, and am a Warrior in the Wyakin Foundation, a local community based organization that focuses on the professional development of wounded veterans who are also students. My passion is in the not for profit domain and I continue my service to my country through my involvement and connecting veterans with our chapter.”
What Inspires You?
“Selfless service and being a productive member of my community are my inspiration in life.”
How Has Team RWB Impacted Your Life?
“Team RWB has impacted my life in such a tremendous way. When I got out of the Army, I realized I was missing the camaraderie and community feeling that I had while serving. I found people I had no idea that I had served with in my local community and that sense of connection has enhanced our friendship. I also developed a greater sense of appreciation for my fellow citizens, through the efforts of our members who consistently put forth effort to bring people together. The overall impact Team RWB has had on my life was assisting with my transition from military service to civilian life. When I left the Army in 2010 I spent four years trying to figure out what my purpose was and Team RWB was there to provide that purpose.”
What Would You Say to Someone Who is Thinking of Joining Team RWB?
“Come out to two events, if you haven’t made a single friend after that, call me and let’s get a coffee.”
