Southeast Regional Director

Overall Purpose

The Regional Director is responsible for the overall operations, including effective execution of our two programs, Chapter & Community Program and Eagle Leadership Development Program, within their specific region (7-10 states).  Regional Directors report to the Chief Operations Officer and lead a regional staff that is comprised of both Program Managers and volunteer leaders.  Excellence requires building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders (employees, volunteers, peers, donors, community partners, etc.), tracking and influencing programmatic outcomes, effective utilization of budget, working with support staff and leading from the front.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead, manage, develop and motivate assigned Team RWB team members and volunteers
  • Lead from the front in your region and in your community; regularly participate with your local chapter
  • Provide timely, consistent, and effective guidance to regional staff volunteers, using key performance indicators
  • Administer powerful training and development curriculum to our employees and volunteer leaders
  • Ensure excellence in delivery of our programs in your region; understand how to measure impact and where/what to improve
  • Track, collect and report out on key performance metrics, adjusting program operations to meet organizational goals and manage team priorities/performance
  • Effectively work with HR, Marketing, Finance, and Technology support staff to maximize organizational outcomes
  • Ensure effective execution of national and regional events in your region
  • Deploy strategies to increase veteran engagement in the region; responsible for veteran outreach
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with partner organizations (donors, veteran service organizations, etc.)
  • Understand and fulfill grant commitments in the region
  • Understand, utilize and hold team accountable for Salesforce data integrity; use data to measure and drive program effectiveness
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection of key metrics & data; leverage data for decision-making and to tell your region’s story
  • Manage regional budget; supervise effective administration of chapter budgets
  • Leverage social media to engage region, amplify marketing efforts, and spread the Eagle Ethos; monitor and manage adherence to brand-integrity guidelines
  • Embrace speaking and writing opportunities to contribute to the “veteran conversation” and advance Team RWB’s work 

A fully qualified candidate shall possess the following attributes: 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience with a record of operational excellence
  • Experience managing complex, multi-faceted projects
  • Ability to effectively manage with a variety of stakeholders
  • Commitment to accomplishing the Team RWB mission and living the Eagle Ethos
  • Proclivity for action; ability to be productive with minimum guidance and supervision while working in a kinetic environment
  • Strong social and emotional intelligence; strong and consistent self-awareness
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, time-management skills and ability to excel and lead in a dispersed staffing environment
  • Willingness to leverage social media and data as a leadership tool
  • Must embrace physical fitness/challenges and be willing to lead and participate in fitness events
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
  • Prior military service in a senior leadership role highly preferred, especially when combined with successful post-military experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, depending on operations

This is a telework position, however, candidates must reside in one of the below metro areas (or within 30 minutes’ driving distance):

  • Atlanta, GA
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Washington, DC
