Supporters take 22 Mile Challenge in DC to raise awareness for veteran suicide

“Why 22 miles? It is estimated that around 22 veterans commit suicide everyday,” Team Red, White & Blue’s (RWB) website says.

“But we don’t want [to] just raise awareness to this issue,” it continues. “We want to combat and end it.”

“By joining together we will walk in remembrance of the fallen, but not forgotten. Arrive as one, leave as one of many.”

Team RWB’s website adds participants will start at the Lincoln Memorial before circling the Vietnam Veteran, World War II and Korean War Veterans Memorials during Saturday’s walk.
