Team RWB Chapters Pay Tribute on September 11 Anniversary
On September 11, 2001, our country changed forever. Thousands of Americans lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, among others in the years following the attacks. This event also changed our military community forever, launching the longest war our military has ever faced. That war still continues today, 18 years later. For many Team Red, White & Blue Eagles, September 11 defined their military service or was the reason they chose to enlist.
Our executive director, J.J. Pinter, served in the aftermath of 9/11, and encourages all of us to remember.
“The September 11 attacks happened 3 months after I was commissioned as an Army Officer. It defined my time in the Army and changed the trajectory of my life,” said Pinter. “The reality is that 9/11 happened 18 years ago and we’ve been at war for almost as long. While it’s very vivid to us, it is imperative that we collectively work to keep that memory alive.”
Team RWB Chapters across the nation are hosting events to observe the anniversary of September 11. To learn about Team RWB remembrance events near you, visit www.teamrwb.org/events-local/. We’ve listed just a few of these powerful opportunities from our regions to gather, honor and remember:
- Clarksville, TN – Flag Walk
Eagles in our Southeast region are coming together in Clarksville for a group flag walk both to and from a local remembrance ceremony. The event provides our Clarksville Eagles an opportunity to reflect, show their patriotism and join in support of their community.
- Waco, TX – Memorial Stair Climb
In partnership with the Heart of Texas Detachment 975 Marine Corps League, Team RWB Waco Eagles will participate in a Jacob’s Ladder relay to honor and remember those who gave their lives. The event, hosted in our Central region, will kick off with a remembrance prayer.
- Waukegan, IL – Moving Tribute
Waukegan Eagles are observing the anniversary of September 11 with both physical and social activity. These Midwest region Eagles will run or walk up to five miles alongside a local running club followed by a team meet up for conversation and connection.
- West Point, NY – All Day Flag Run
In our Northeast region, our West Point chapter is one of many hosting a remembrance event. In 30-minute intervals throughout the day, Eagles will run, walk and ruck while carrying flags and pausing to observe a moment of silence at retreat.

In Fresno, Team RWB members will participate in a unique CrossFit-style workout created by one of our West region Eagles, specifically in remembrance of those lost on September 11.
