COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- On Saturday morning, Team RWB members and their families participated in a two mile ruck starting at Spence Park on the Texas A&M University campus.

“We’ve been doing this for a couple of years now and it’s grown but it’s all about showing and honoring our brothers and sisters who lost their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Chris Thompson, the Program Manager of Team RWB.

During the route the group stopped by some of the memorials and significant military landmarks around campus and discussed the true meaning of Memorial Day.

“It’s super important because ultimately the freedoms we have are because of the sacrifices that we have made and it’s important to remember that and honor those folks,” said Thompson.

During the route the group also had the opportunity to share stories of service members who they are walking in honor of.

After the ruck, the group then headed over to Veterans Park for a day of fun and good barbecue.
