Week 1: Old Glory Relay 2018

  • Share

In Week #1, Old Glory has traveled for 3 Days, 144 Miles, and through 3 states (MA, RI, CT)

The Team Red, White & Blue Old Glory Relay presented by Microsoft kicked off in Boston on Tuesday, September 11 with a moving ceremony at Fenway Park. Eagles from across New England were joined by the Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans’ Services, Francisco Ureña, and representatives from presenting sponsor Microsoft, and sponsors Westfield, Comcast NBCUniversal, and Amazon. The flag arrived at the Rhode Island State House later that day, welcomed by Governor Gina Raimondo.

Our Eagles were up bright and early the next morning, running Old Glory to Cranston and sponsor ALEX AND ANI headquarters. None of this would be possible without our amazing partners who stand with us as we weave communities together across the country.

Day 3 of the #oldgloryrelay started in front of Hamilton Hall at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the first service academy to take part in this year’s relay. Academy Superintendent Rear Admiral James Rendon rocked the first leg of the day with the Team Red, White & Blue Groton Chapter!

We’re so proud of all the Eagles who have taken part in OGR so far and can’t wait to follow along as the flag heads toward the U.S. Military Academy and New York City next week! Catch all the inspiration on social media with #OldGloryRelay.
