In Week #4, Old Glory has traveled for 24 Days, 1,456 Miles, and through 10 states (MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, OH, MI, IN)

What a week for Eagles from Ohio to Indiana! After feeling the love from Steeler Nation, the Old Glory Relay headed to Northeast Ohio for the first time in its five-year history!

From Youngstown, Ohio to the Soldiers and Sailors monument in downtown Cleveland, Team RWB Akron/Canton brought the Eagle Fire every step of the way. Channel 21 NBC was on the scene with Leg Captain Elsa Cave, who shared why she cares so much about OGR!

Day 20 kicked off bright and early as Old Glory began the 110-mile trek to Toledo. The team stopped at Lakewood Fire Station #3 to meet up with a group of amazing Americans who rolled out the red carpet for the Eagles!
Three weeks after OGR kicked off in Boston, Eagles ran, rucked, walked, and biked Old Glory almost 80 miles over 14 hours, bringing the flag from Hart Plaza in Detroit to downtown Tecumseh.
Every day with Old Glory is special, but one day this week was particularly poignant. Team RWB Executive Director John Pinter was able to bring OGR to his hometown of Litchfield, MI. Hundreds of supporters, including Mayor O.R. Smith and Major General Gregory Vadnais, gathered at the Litchfield Veterans Memorial in celebration.
Day 24 started in Girard, Michigan with Eagles from chapters all over the Midwest joining us for a banner day on the route. As we crossed into a new state we also welcomed a new Eagle (Bob) to the team. Bob ran and biked more than 20 total miles in full firefighter gear. We ended the day with the Notre Dame Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse teams taking victory laps with Old Glory before heading into Notre Dame stadium for a grand finale with the South Bend Mayor.
Congratulations to Steve Majewski for winning last week’s fundraising challenge and the $100 Starbucks gift card! This week the top three fundraisers each won a $50 gift card from Combat Flip Flops–Awesome job Scott PettySteve Majewski, and Shannon Finegan! You won!
Team RWB is excited to again partner with TrueCar for their DrivenToDrive program. We feel the freedom of the road every day on the Old Glory Relay and TrueCar will be giving away a new vehicle to provide this feeling for a deserving veteran or supporter.
