Executive Director

JJ Pinter is the Executive Director of Team Red, White, and Blue. As Team RWB’s 2nd employee, he has played a key role the development, growth, and operation of the organization. JJ works closely with board members, staff, and volunteer leaders to ensure the delivery of excellent programs that deliver impact. He provides strategic guidance in addition to building and managing critical partnerships.

JJ is a West Point graduate and combat veteran, serving as a Field Artillery officer. After his military service, he held both leadership and analytical positions in the construction, defense and medical industries. He currently resides outside Louisville, KY with his wife and 3 kids, where he loves to coach youth sports and be outdoors with his family.

As the Marketing and Communications Director, Dan’s primary responsibility is for the planning and management of Team RWB’s marketing, public relations and strategic communications program. Dan brings 20 years of management and leadership experience to Team RWB that spans military, corporate and agency roles. Dan recently spent two years at Merkle, one of the nation’s leading performance marketing agencies, designing and launching successful integrated marketing strategies across the health and insurance industries. Prior to joining Merkle, Dan spent 13 years at Aetna engaged in a variety of different roles including consulting, corporate development, marketing, product development, and digital experiences. Dan holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy and spent the first five years of his career on active duty as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army. Dan currently resides in Bend, OR with his wife, Carrie, and two boys, Chase and Eric. When Dan isn’t connected to a digital device you can find him enjoying family time, coaching the Bend High Lacrosse team and running in the mountains.

Megan joins Team RWB as the Director of Development. Before joining Team RWB, Megan led the formation of the Oakland Raiders Foundation, and led sponsorship and resource development teams for a number of national non-profits including 4-H, BGCA and Susan G. Komen. Prior to her move to non-profit leadership, Megan held leadership roles with Bank of America’s global sponsorship marketing team. Megan graduated from the University of Notre Dame where she was a member of NROTC and the women’s varsity lacrosse team. Upon graduation, she was commissioned as a naval officer and served with a Beachmaster Unit, the Naval Networks, and Space Operations Command and on a joint forces tour with the US Central Command. In 2003 she left active duty to earn a Masters in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. She resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, a USN veteran, and twins, Lael and Cade. Megan enjoys running, the outdoors, wine, and all Notre Dame athletics.

Georgina Biehl first joined Team RWB as a volunteer leader for Team RWB Texas and was later hired as Director of the Southcentral Region. Previously, she spent ten years working for Fortune 500 companies, most recently as the Director of Corporate Development serving the Oil & Gas Industry. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Georgina earned her BS in Mathematical Sciences and completed graduate studies in Public Administration and Organizational Development. Upon leaving Active Duty, she spent four years working as a Manpower and Organizational Consultant for NATO in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina. When she’s not wearing the Eagle, she spends her time fostering puppies with a local rescue in Houston. She is originally from Mexico City but moved to Texas as quickly as she could!

Laken Stutzman is Team RWB’s Director of Finance, and a long time member of TeamRWB. In addition to the daily financial management for Team RWB, her responsibilities include budgeting, revenue forecasting, cash flow accounting, and financial analysis. She is a University of Louisville graduate and former division I field hockey player. Laken is a long time accountant, with significant experience in non-profit finance and auditing. She currently resides in Louisville, KY with her husband, Dustin, and their dog, Baxter.

As Director of Programs, Zack’s primary responsibility is to ensure world class delivery of our core, complimentary programs (Chapter & Community Program and Eagle Leadership Development Program) in a manner that is highly effective in accomplishing our mission. Zack brings nearly 5 years of experience as Team RWB’s first Regional Director. Before joining Team RWB, Zack was an Exercise Physiologist at the University of Michigan where he provided both clinical and research-based expertise. Prior to graduate school, he held leadership positions in Whirlpool’s Global Supply Chain Leadership Development Program. Zack received his B.S. in Engineering Management and M.S. in Exercise Physiology, both from Western Michigan University. During undergrad, he was a member of the Varsity Baseball and Cycling Teams. Zack currently resides in Cleveland, OH with his lovely wife Stacey, and their dog Roxi.

Caroline Angel R.N., Ph.D joins Team RWB as the Research Director. Dr. Angel is a Masters prepared psychiatric mental health nurse who holds a PhD in Nursing and Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research has focused on post traumatic stress, shame, forgiveness, health, and mortality. She has longitudinally followed a series of randomized controlled trials and was in a research or teaching role at the University of Pennsylvania between 1999 and 2014. Caroline is a runner and crossfitter. She leads Team RWB Central NJ.

Garrett joins the RWB family as Regional Director of the Southeast Region. Prior to this role, Garrett was a sales associate at NuVasive, a medical device company specializing in innovative spine solutions. After graduating the U.S. Military Academy, Garrett served as an Army Officer in the Cavalry for nine years including two combat tours in Iraq, and one in Afghanistan. Garrett resides in Atlanta and enjoys running, reading, functional fitness and cooking.

Eric is combat veteran who served as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant in Afghanistan with 3rd Special Forces Group. Upon leaving the military, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Peace, War, and Defense. Upon graduation, he worked at Universal Strategy Group Inc. as an independent contractor for military training. Eric now lives in Tampa with his wife, Vanessa, and their son. He enjoys surfing, rock climbing, functional fitness and cycling.

Patrick Griffith is a Program Manager for the Southeast Region. Prior to joining Team RWB, Patrick was an Operations and Logistics Manager for Target’s Food Distribution Center in Lake City, FL where he managed a team responsible for production flow. Patrick served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with the US Army, including a tour in Afghanistan. Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science from Bethel University where he also served as an assistant coach in Bethel’s football program. He now resides in Atlanta with his wife, Brittany, and their two dogs. He enjoys functional fitness, being outdoors, and all sports.

John provides accounting services and processes payments for Team RWB’s staff, regions, and chapters. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel with B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Virginia. John had two deployments to Southwest Asia as a Field Artillery officer and served as an analyst and West Point professor. Since leaving the military, he has performed systems engineering and research consulting, conducts leadership training, manages a B&B, and co-owns a Virginia farm.
John is also the social director for the West Point chapter of Team RWB and enjoys running and other fitness activities. He resides in Highland Falls, NY with his wife, Tricia, son, Michael, daughter, Madeleine, and their Cavalier King Charles, Captain Molly.

Nita Pennardt joins Team RWB as Financial Manager (A/R)/Director of Gratitude. She is primarily responsible for receivables processing and the development and maintenance of a comprehensive gratitude system.

Most recently, through Redhead Consulting, Nita has worked with contact-center and technology organizations to help them improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations and drive improved performance through highly engaged associates.

Prior to forming Redhead Consulting, Nita spent 22 years with Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. (CCE). As Vice President, Customer Development, she lead the inception and provided strategic leadership to a four-site Customer Development Center supporting sales and service for customers across CCE’s North America Business Unit. At CCE she also served in a diverse range of roles including Florida Division Vice President of Cold Drink Sales, Corporate Internal Audit Director, Senior Information Systems Manager, and Corporate Manager of Employee Communications.

Nita received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and holds the Senior Professional Human Resources designation.

Nita resides in Bradenton, Florida, with her husband, Werner. She enjoys participating in a variety of activities including paddle boarding, motorcycling, fishing, running and triathlons. She is a Certified Level 2 PaddleFit Coach.

Ryan serves within the Eagle Leadership Development Program to support Eagle Leader Experiences, curriculum development, Eagle Leader Fellows, and manages our E-Learning platform. Ryan currently serves in the Illinois Army National Guard as a Human Resources Sergeant assigned to HHC 1-106 Aviation Battalion in Peoria, IL, and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. Ryan earned his Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Community Organization, Planning and Administration from the University of Southern California. Ryan has been a volunteer with Team Red, White & Blue since 2013. Ryan currently resides in Springfield, IL with his fiancée and two stepchildren Jocelyn and Hazel.

Amanda Rondon joins Team RWB as the Director of the Northeast Region. She has been actively involved with Team RWB since January 2013. Previously, Amanda spent 12 years in the benefits administration outsourcing space as a Senior Technical Analyst, most recently at Willis Towers Watson as a Lead Business Analyst. Born and raised in rural southern New Jersey, Amanda comes from a family with a strong military tradition. Amanda is a graduate of La Salle University where she majored in Management Information Systems and was a captain of the varsity softball team. Amanda enjoys obstacle racing, triathlon, power yoga, playing soccer, and anything that involves spending time outdoors with friends.

Kian O’Donohue is a Program Manager for the Midwest Region. Prior to joining Team RWB, Kian worked for Davenport University where he advised military and veteran students, making sure they used their military benefits to get the most out of their education. He was in charge of coordinating and organizing Veterans Day events, and assisted in creating a veterans’ lounge for military students on campus. Kian also served a tour in Iraq with the US Army doing convoy security from 2006-2007. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Madonna University. He currently lives in Wixom with his wife, Christina. During the summer season Kian enjoys playing Gaelic football, soccer, and kayaking.

Dustin Sanderson joins Team RWB as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Program Manager. Dustin brings a wealth of experience in program implementation, oversight, and execution from prior roles with outdoor education and recreation programs. Most recently with two independent schools in Washington, D.C. and previously as the Program Director for the U.S. Army’s Warrior Adventure Quest program at Fort Hood. Not only is he passionate about keeping people active and integrated through lifetime activities but Dustin is also a major proponent of leadership development through outdoor activities.

Dustin earned a Master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Hardin-Simmons University in 2006. In addition to running programs he is also an active climbing guide and whitewater kayaking instructor. Additionally, he enjoys just about every other outdoor and adventure sport and is a two time competitor on American Ninja Warrior. He currently resides in Arlington with his wife, Evan, and daughter where they enjoy all that our nation’s Capital has to offer.

Shaun Provost is the National Community and Content Manager for Team RWB. With a strong background in both online and social media marketing, she joins the team with a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and positivity. While not a veteran herself, she has a deep respect for our military personnel and fully supports all of those who have served along with those still serving. In addition to her responsibilities with Team RWB, she is the owner, founder, and CEO of her own business – “Live Unbreakable” – which seeks to challenge physical and mental limits through fitness programs and races; and is herself an Elite Athlete with several professional sponsors. From obstacle courses to Ironmans, local 5k’s to international BeastMaster competitions, Shaun loves to challenge her limits. Whether out on the course or volunteering afterwards, you can usually always catch her running, kickboxing, cycling, or dancing to some country music.

Mike Greenwood is joining Team Red, White and Blue as the Northwest Regional Program Manager. Prior to joining the executive staff, Mike was selected as an Eagle Leader Fellow for the Northwest Region of Team RWB. Mike served as an Infantry Soldier with the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division, including tours in Afghanistan & Iraq. Upon leaving the military as an enlisted soldier, Mike earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from Pace University where he assisted in building the local SVA chapter. He now resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Demetria, and their daughter Crisanna. He enjoys trail running, hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains with his family.

Sarah Holzhalb joins Team RWB as Relationships Manager. Prior to joining the organization, Sarah spent nine years working as Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs Manager for the national trade association representing the offshore domestic energy industry. In this capacity she focused on implementing comprehensive legislative programs and public policy engagement. Prior to entering the civilian workforce, Sarah was an active duty commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for five years – she served both afloat and ashore tours, conducting search and rescue missions. Staff tours included implementing port safety and national security regulations within the maritime shipping industry and serving as an Admiral’s aide and Flag Lieutenant.

Sarah earned a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, M.S. in International Relations from Troy University and a Master of Professional Studies in Political Management from The George Washington University.

A born and bred Virginian, she now calls New Orleans home. She enjoys all sports and physical challenges, but spends most of her time training for road/trail marathons and ultras. She loves reading, cycling, hiking, boating, hunting and fishing with her family, and any kind of outdoor activity on the water or in the woods.

Jim Yauger joins Team Red White and Blue as a Mid-Atlantic Regional Program Manager. Prior to joining the executive staff, Jim spent the past seven years developing programs that improve the transitional environment for fellow service members. No stranger to Team RWB, he was selected to participate in the pilot of the Eagle Leader Fellow program in 2015 and is currently the Pittsburgh Chapter Captain. Jim served as an enlisted Infantry Soldier with the US Army’s 1st Cavalry Division, including a tour to Iraq in 2004-05. Upon leaving the military, he earned his Bachelors of Business Management from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA where he also assisted in establishing the local Student Veterans of America Chapter. Based in Pittsburgh, Jim spends his spare time mountain biking, trail running and chasing around his two daughters.

Chris Thompson joins Team RWB as the Program Manager for the South Central Region. Prior to joining the executive staff, Chris served a majority of his time in the Army as a Green Beret in 3rd Special Forces Group. After his time in the military, Chris worked as civilian supporting Special Operations for the next several years. Altogether, he conducted seven combat deployments and was decorated with the Bronze Star for Valor and was also presented the Congressional Veteran Commendation. Chris later owned and operated a small manufacturing company while volunteering as a Chapter Captain for Team RWB in his local community. He now resides in Texas with his wife and son and loves being outdoors, to include leading events as a GORUCK Cadre.

Jessica joins Team RWB as the Northeast Program Manager. She is a member of the first class of Eagle Leader Fellows, and has been a part of Eagle Nation since 2013. Originally from Philadelphia, Jessica earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Jessica served in the Army as an intelligence officer for 6 years, including a deployment to Iraq in 2004 with the 759th Military Police Battalion. Prior to joining the executive staff, Jessica was a public high school history teacher and gym owner. Jessica currently resides in Philadelphia and enjoys yoga, meditation, trail running and travel.

Kris Lord joins Team Red, White and Blue as the Pacific Regional Program Manager. Prior to joining the executive staff, she was selected as an Eagle Leader Fellow for the Pacific Region, utilizing her fellowship to explore her passion for writing, and receive ASIST and safeTALK certifications. She has been a volunteer leader in the San Francisco chapter since 2014. As the sister of an Army veteran, Kris has a long history of veteran support, including assisting her brother in building his veteran mentorship program in the Northwest. She has a professional background in management and working with seniors for over twenty years, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University East Bay. A Bay Area native, Kris enjoys any time on the water, running trails, and walking the hills with her Border Collie, Cruiser.

Cody is a Program Manager for the Northwest Region. Prior to joining Team RWB, Cody was an instructor and coach in Performance Enhancement and Resilience techniques at Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness at Fort Benning, GA. She taught soldiers and their families psychological skills that helped increase outcomes in military and personal performances as well as build personal and professional resilience. Cody worked with the U.S. Army in this capacity for 6 years and worked with soldiers from all over the world and those just beginning their careers to those transitioning into civilian life. Cody earned a Bachelor’s of Interdisciplinary Science from Arizona State University where she was also a member of the varsity Track and Field and Cross Country teams. She also holds a Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. She now lives in Boise, ID with her husband Trent and their dogs and cat. Cody loves trail running, hiking, and camping out in the mountains.

Team RWB is excited to announce the addition of Mark McNamara to our staff as our first Director of Technology! In this role, Mark is responsible for the management and strategy of Team RWB’s technology ecosystem.  Previously, Mark spent 12 years at Chatham Financial, a global leader in risk management advisory and technology solutions. He held a variety of roles, including derivatives consulting, marketing, technology, and CRM.  Mark earned a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy and spent the first five years of his career on active duty as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army.  He currently resides in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania with his wife Dayanne and 5 boys, Devante, DJ, Michael, Horatio, and Theodore.  Mark enjoys family time, basketball, and bass fishing.

Star Cathcart was born and raised in Columbia, MO and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2005 after playing 2 years of college basketball. She served 5 years in the Marine Corps spending the majority of her time with Third MAW MALS-11, as an FA-18 Aviation Electronics Technician and Production Supervisor. Star deployed on the USS Nimitz during her time in the Marine Corps.

Star and her husband Michael transitioned out of the Marine Corps and Navy respectively back in 2011, and moved their family to Missouri to pursue Business Administration degrees from Columbia College while being near family again. Star graduated from her bachelors program in 2012, and began working as a project manager for IBM for several years. In 2016, Star graduated from Stephens College with her Master in Strategic Leadership.

Star has been serving in her local RWB community as the Community Engagement Director for 2 years. In 2017, Star was selected to be an Eagle Leader Fellow, and her most recent role with RWB has been as a Midwest Coordinator. Outside of her RWB volunteer activities, Star has been volunteering in her local church as an Off Stage Director, Small Group Leader, and a healing circle facilitator. Star and her husband Michael have three kids: Leilani- 8, Zara-7, Nico-4 and two dogs Bo and She-Ra. Star’s favorite things to do are spend time with her tribe and doing yoga.

Team RWB welcomes a new member to the National Staff – Trish joins the Development Team as an enthusiastic and passionate fundraiser! Born and raised in California, Trish enlisted in the Air Force at 17 years old and was in basic training on September 11, 2001. The next 7 years were spent deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as an Aircraft Loadmaster on C-5’s with the 21st and 22nd Airlift Squadrons at Travis AFB and then C-130’s with the 40th Airlift Squadron at Dyess AFB. After being medically retired from the military in June 2008, she moved back home to Northern California to complete a BA in Psychology at Brandman University while volunteering with numerous local nonprofit organizations. Trish volunteered her way into a full-time position in fundraising as a Major Gift Officer with California Waterfowl Association and most recently as the Director of Development for the ALS Association in Sacramento. Trish currently lives in Northern California with her two sons, Zach and Blake, and her boyfriend, Jason. Together they love to travel, shoot long range, and hunt. Trish still loves to volunteer and continues to raise and train future service dogs for veterans.

Almost 15 years after marrying an Army soldier and crafting communications strategies across multiple industries, organizations, and continents, Bana now lives her passion as Team RWB’s Public Relations Manager. Bana graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Martin J. Whitman School of Management with degrees in public relations and marketing management. When she’s not on a soapbox defending the Oxford comma, you can find Bana volunteering at her children’s school or exploring the nearest national park. Bana lives with her husband and three children outside Washington, DC…until the Army tells them otherwise.

Caitlin joins Team RWB as Northeast Program Manager after 4 years volunteering at the local and regional level. Caitlin has been involved with the Oswego, NY chapter since its start in 2014, and in 2017 was selected to be a member of the Eagle Leader Fellow Class 003. Her most recent role with RWB has been as a Northeast Regional Volunteer. Prior to Team RWB, Caitlin worked in international education, most recently as Assistant Director for Education Abroad at SUNY Oswego. She has a BS in Journalism from SUNY Brockport (NY) and a MA in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University (WV). Based in Philly, Caitlin is a certified yoga instructor and loves all outdoors activities including skiing, triathlon, running, cycling, swimming, and rucking.

Lani Faulkner joins Team RWB as a Southeast Regional Program Manager with over five years of experience as Daytona Chapter Captain, National Community Engagement Director, Southeast Regional volunteer, and current Daytona Athletic Coordinator.  In 2016, Lani was selected as an Eagle Leader Fellow and received her ASSIST training and Executive Certificate in Leadership. A self-proclaimed “military brat,” current wife of a veteran, and mother of an active duty military son, Lani has dedicated much of her time to various military and veterans organizations.  Previous to Team RWB, Lani was employed in the fortune 100/500 financial investments industry as a licensed client service associate. In her spare time, you’ll find Lani training in triathlons, CrossFit, rucking, running, cycling, swimming, or yoga, or spending time with her beautiful family!

Brandon Thomas is the Southcentral Regional Director, based out of the DFW area. Prior to adopting Texas as his new home and having the honor of joining Team RWB, Brandon was an Assistant Professor of Engineering Psychology at the United States Military Academy. Brandon served as an Armor Officer in the US Army, including tours to Mosul, Iraq and Kandahar, Afghanistan. He is a combat wounded veteran and Purple Heart recipient. His experiences taught him that people are the most important thing in life and like many of you, he is an open book! Brandon loves to share stories and genuinely get to know you. Brandon earned his B.S. and M.S. in Engineering Psychology from USMA and Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively. Originally from New Orleans (Who D@!!!!), he now resides in Dallas with his amazing wife Christina; wonderful, yet high-intensity, daughter Elizabeth; and their dog Bronson. Brandon loves all things outdoors; especially, sprint triathlons, fishing, hunting, hammock reading, and camping.

Dan Manrique is a Marine Corps veteran who served with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, as a Radio Operator, and deployed to the middle east in 2007 with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Prior to Team RWB, Dan worked in the entertainment industry, mortgage servicing, and the financial planning industry.  Dan’s most recent role was with a Los Angeles based nonprofit, as the program manager for the veteran representative payee program helping veterans, with a dual diagnosis, learn to manage their VA and SSA financial benefits. Dan has been a part of Team RWB since 2012, and has served as Chapter Captain for the Ventura County Chapter since 2014. He enjoys being active, finding opportunities to learn and grow, and connecting with all of the great things happening in the community. On his time off, you can catch him hiking, biking, photographing, learning the craft of brewing, and watching his favorite sports teams. He is an avid Dodger fan, and you’ll often find him at a game. Paul Bell is an Operating Partner at Lead Edge Capital, a firm that invests in early-stage technology companies. He was previously an operating executive at Dell for 15 years, where he was President of the global Public Sector and Large Enterprise division and, earlier, President of the European business. Prior to his time at Dell, Paul was at the Bain & Co. consulting firm. He earned his MBA from Yale. He is an avid cyclist and pilot. He has flown over 25 missions for Veterans’ Airlift Command, flying wounded warriors and their families. He lives with his wife and three daughters in Austin, Texas.

Mike founded Team RWB in 2010 while he was a Captain in the Army and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. He served on active duty for 13 years, including three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Mike is currently the President of The Positivity Project and CEO of The Character & Leadership Center. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2002 and earned his Master’s degree in Psychology & Leadership from the University of Michigan in 2011. He is the co-author of the book entitled, Lead Yourself First: Inspiring Leadership Through Solitude. Mike lives in Pinehurst, NC, with his wife and four children.

Kate joined Team Red, White and Blue in September of 2011 with the creation of the Western PA Chapter by her father COL(r) James Nemec. Kate helped build the new Chapter from the ground up and eventually took over as Chapter Captain in September of 2013. As an Army Veteran who believes in the crucial benefits of staying physically fit and serving others and the community, Kate was immediately drawn to the mission of Team RWB. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Gannon University in Erie, PA and after serving 5 years as an Army Officer in the Military Police Corps, Kate began a new journey as a stay-at-home mom with her 4 children. She and her teacher/coach husband, Steve, reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Kate is very involved in her church, coaches athletics and teaches Senior Fitness at the local YMCA.

James is responsible for Team RWB’s financial management: budgeting, cash flow, investments, and accounting. A former Army aviation officer, with combat tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan, he is currently an associate sales consultant with Synthes Spine, a leading developer of implants and instruments for the treatment of fractures, tumors, deformities, and degenerative diseases of the spine. He lives with his wife in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee area.

As a member of the Board of Directors, Sam’s focus on behalf of the board is the design and implementation of Team Red, White, and Blue’s leadership development program. A veteran with over 13 years service in the U.S. Army, including six deployments between 2003-2014 with Ranger and Infantry units, Sam has been decorated twice for valor in combat, and continues to serve on active duty as a Major. An avid believer in Functional Fitness, Sam founded WOD for Warriors in 2011. He expanded and developed W4W until 2013, at which point he transitioned it fully to Team RWB. Sam earned his MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, taught Economics at the United States Military Academy, and now serves as a Brigade Operations Officer at the 4th Infantry Division Artillery at Fort Carson, Colorado where he resides with his wife and three children.

A desire to do things with veterans as opposed to for veterans and a love of running and service led Joanna to Team RWB in 2011. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles including Athletic Director for the DC/MD/VA chapter for four years and currently as the Chair of the Internal Affairs Committee (Board Sub-Committee). She has spent more than 15 years in the education and non-profit space and has extensive experience in global operations management and marketing. Currently, she is the Director of Academics at Veritas Prep, one of the world’s largest privately owned test preparation and admissions consulting providers. She holds a BS in Language and Linguistics as well as Executive Certificates in Marketing and Finance from Georgetown University. She has also completed multiple executive education programs in global leadership and negotiation at Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), The Fuqua School of Business (Duke University) and Thunderbird School of Global Management. Joanna also serves on the Military Advisory Committee for Dog Tag Bakery and the Board of Directors of the Hoya Hoop Club at Georgetown. In her free time, she’s an avid ultra runner and triathlete and resides in Arlington, VA with her husband.

Doug McCormick is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at HCI Equity Partners and oversees the origination, management and development of the Firm’s investments. Mr. McCormick leads the firm’s investment initiatives in the commercial aerospace, defense, distribution and industrial packaging industries. Before joining HCI Equity, he worked at Thayer Capital Partners and the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was involved in the completion of numerous mergers and acquisitions and acquisition-related financing transactions. Mr. McCormick previously served as a Captain in the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division receiving numerous awards to include Runner Up in the 1995 Best Ranger Competition. Mr. McCormick received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Bryan retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of flying the B-52 bomber. While active duty, he flew combat missions in 3 different theaters and was involved in strategic planning throughout the US and Europe. He received his Master of Aeronautical Science in Management and Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.  In addition to Team RWB, Bryan is a long time LIVESTRONG Leader and volunteers as an Advisory Board member at two Camp Kesem chapters as well as a diver at the Georgia Aquarium.  An Eagle since 2011, Bryan was a founding member of the Shreveport-Bossier Chapter of Team RWB. He is currently an Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines pilot and lives with his wife and 4 children in Buford, Georgia.

Laura’s love of hiking, coupled with her research on veteran reintegration, led her to join Team RWB in early 2013. She has been part of the Los Angeles Chapter’s volunteer leadership team since May 2013. Laura also supports the veteran community as a member of PsychArmor’s Faith Leaders Advisory Committee. She is a Senior Management Scientist at the RAND Corporation, a non-partisan, nonprofit research institution, and also a Professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. At RAND, she conducts research in the public interest and trains Ph.D. candidates to do the same. Laura is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Stanford University. An avid fitness enthusiast, she also holds a NASM Certification for Personal Training and spends her free time training for challenging hikes such as Mts. Kilimanjaro, Whitney, and Rainier. Laura is a Jersey Shore native, but has been a proud California resident for over 20 years.

Martin is a retired Command Sergeant Major, enlisting in the Field Artillery in 1986, and served in both the Active component and Virginia Army National Guard. He retired with two combat deployments and a decoration for valor in combat. Martin earned a master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Maryland, and is the Director of Information Operations at the Defense Logistics Agency in Richmond, VA. Martin joined Team RWB in 2011, leading the Richmond chapter and helping to building chapters and communities throughout Virginia. He continues his service to veterans by serving on the Veteran Services Foundation Board for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services and the Veterans Advisory Council of the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program. He works closely with the Team RWB Triathlon team as the Ironman Triclub Coordinator. As a triathlete himself, he has competed in all distances of triathlon from sprints to the Ironman. Martin resides in Chesterfield, Virginia with his wife and two children.

JJ Pinter is the Executive Director of Team Red, White, and Blue. As Team RWB’s 2nd employee, he has played a key role the development, growth, and operation of the organization. JJ works closely with board members, staff, and volunteer leaders to ensure the delivery of excellent programs that deliver impact. He provides strategic guidance in addition to building and managing critical partnerships.

JJ is a West Point graduate and combat veteran, serving as a Field Artillery officer. After his military service, he held both leadership and analytical positions in the construction, defense and medical industries. He currently resides outside Louisville, KY with his wife and 3 kids, where he loves to coach youth sports and be outdoors with his family.

Mel graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1989 as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery and served as a forward observer, a fire direction officer, a battery executive officer and as division assistant logistics and support officer with the 319thAirborne Field Artillery in the 82ndAirborne Division.  During his service, Mel also attended Airborne School, Ranger School, Jumpmaster School and Airborne Operations School.  Mel is also a combat veteran (Operations Desert Storm/Desert Shield). Captain Parker transitioned from the military in to the corporate world in 1994.

After leaving the military, Mel embarked on 20+ year journey in corporate America working for some of the most prestigious organizations in their industries. Some of the positions held include – President of North America(Brinks), Managing Director of North America(Aggreko), Vice President and General Manager of North America – Consumer/Small Business (Dell), Vice President Sales and Marketing – North America (Newell Rubbermaid), Vice President and General Manager of US Commercial Business (Corporate Express(Staples)), Gatorade Business Manager, Strategic Account Manager and General Manager (PepsiCo).  In the roles as President, Managing Director or General Manager, Mel has been responsible for successfully leading high performance teams of multi-billion-dollar businesses with up to 14,000 employees.

Mel has delivered leadership expertise through panels, seminars and keynote addresses, with a special focus on: Inspirational/Servant Leadership, High Performance Team Leadership, Transformational and Change Leadership and Crisis Leadership.

Mel currently serves on the Board of Directors for Vectrus (NYSE: VEC).  Vectrus delivers global infrastructure, IT and logistics services primarily to the Department of Defense.  Mel formerly served on the Executive Advisory Board Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Texas.
